Synopsis: There are over seven hundred, this is the official figure, American military bases around the world. Outposts of future wars and increasingly often the final result and reason for military interventions. Through three years of research and field investigations, the authors give voice to the populations who live alongside American soldiers and, through interviews with experts such as Noam Chomsky, Gore Vidal, Chalmers Johnson and many others, reflect on U.S. foreign and military policy.
